Biography
Sophie holds a Master’s Degree (Hons) in Secondary Education and a BSc. with Education (Hons) from Maynooth University, where she specialised in Mathematics and Biology. During her time at Maynooth, she worked as a tutor and supervisor in the Mathematics Support Centre, providing academic support to students across a wide range of disciplines. She is also proficient in the use of mathematical software tools, including GeoGebra and Desmos, to enhance teaching and learning. In 2022, she presented at the Maths Meet conference, sharing innovative ways to enhance mathematics education through the integration of coding.
Sophie currently co-ordinates and lectures the Mathematics module on the Trinity International Foundation Programme at Marino Institute of Education. Her main area of academic interest is inclusive education and student support within mathematics, with a particular focus on designing and implementing targeted academic interventions.
