MGO Merit Bursary 

You will receive a Merit Bursary from COGG to support additional expenses you incur completing the MGO course.  

If you are also eligible for financial support from SUSI, as part of the SUSI application, you may be asked about other funding you received. It is important to be aware that from the academic year 2026/2027, the COGG merit bursary is not for course fees, but for any additional expenses you incur. 

 

The basis of the merit bursary is your performance on the TEG B1 exam and upon accepting a place on the Irish-medium PME Masters Programme, MGO-Máistir Gairmiúil san Oideachas (Bunmhúinteoireacht) - Conair lán-Ghaeilge.

 

Payment of the Bursary 

  • Annual €2,000 bursary, paid in two instalments 

  • 1st instalment (€1,000) issued in Semester 1 (November), subject to receipt of the first fee instalment. 

  • 2nd instalment (€1,000) issued in Semester 2 (February), subject to receipt of the remaining balance of any course fee and charges amounts.  

 

Presentation of certificates for the Bursary will occur in Semester 1 of the academic year.
